Leader's Remarks in Meeting with Friday Prayers Imams From Across Islamic

Leader's Remarks in Meeting with Friday Prayers Imams From Across Islamic PDF Print
Wednesday, 29 September 2010 12:42
The Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has said the arrogant powers of this world, and those who make excessive demands, contrary to what they claim, want all the wealth and power they can get hold of for themselves, and for their cronies. The Leader said an obvious example of this is if we compare how ordinary Americans live with how the ruling elite live in America.
Speaking on Tuesday in a meeting with Friday prayers Imams from across the country, the Leader referred to some harrowing statistics about the living  standards and living conditions of lower class Americans, and stressed that the Iranian president referred to some of these facts and figures in his busy trip to the United Nations in New York. The Leader said several million Americans live on the streets and sleep in card board boxes at night, and tens of millions of Americans live below the poverty line. The Leader poignantly added: "This is the unpalatable and bitter truth of US society today".
In further remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the Iranian nation is standing firm, with all its might, against the excessive demands of the arrogant powers, who want to take over and dominate the world. The Leader added: "The Iranian nation will not bow to coercion and bullying, and gives its full backing to Muslim nations, particularly the long-oppressed Palestinian people. We say this forthrightly".
In further comments the Leader said in relation to enemy threats, one can either surrender to these threats, or one can firmly and resolutely stand against the worst excesses of the enemy, with unwavering faith in God Almighty.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei went on to emphasize that one of the most important duties of Friday prayers Imams is to be aware of enemy plots and conspiracies. He added: "In recent years some individuals have to distract the attention of the general public and society from the important topic of "knowing and being aware of our enemies". These same individuals even tried to introduce a fallacious argument by saying that the Islamic government constantly conjures up foreign enemies in order to escape responsibility for some of its internal difficulties.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized that we must all be vigilant in relation to enemy moves, and must know how to counter enemy plots and conspiracies. The Leader asked: "Why do some people insist on ignoring or overlooking the wicked and evil role, the conspiratorial hand of the enemy, in various events in this country"?
Turning to young people, the Leader stressed that young people make up the bulk of the population of this country. He said "Young Iranians are being targeted by the enemy, since the enemy knows very well that young people are the driving engine behind the advancement of Islamic Iran".

Iran slams silence on Quran desecration

Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani censures the US silence on the outrageous act of desecrating the holy Quran, urging the Muslim world to take swift action against it.

Although Florida pastor Terry Jones called off his Quran burning plans in the face of fierce international condemnation, anti-Islam protesters in the US reportedly defiled the Quran and burned copies of the holy book on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on Saturday.

In his message, Larijani said the desecration of the holy Quran is a 'brutal' act which shows 'barbarism in the modern era,' ISNA reported on Monday.

The Iranian parliament speaker added that the silence of those who beat the drums for freedom and democracy on the blasphemous decision has drawn the ire of freedom-seeking humans and stirred international hatred of the US.

According to Larijani, such measures will undoubtedly hurt spiritual and religious feelings of millions of Muslims across the world as well as followers of all divine faiths.

The top parliamentarian also warned US statesmen that they should expect a 'harsh fate' if they refuse to act wisely.

He said this shameful act also reveals the weakness of hegemonic powers as they support burning and desecrating the holiest book in the world which has more than 1.5 billion followers.

The Iranian official further warned that Muslims will not remain silent in the face of sacrilegious moves.

Larijani said such insane behavior is the result of Washington's disgraceful defeats in the Iraqi and Afghan wars as well as its repeated failures in confrontation with Iran, Lebanon, Palestine and Pakistan.

He advised the US government to stop backing such savage acts 'or it should await a crushing response by Muslims across the world.'

Quran desecrated on 9/11 anniversary

Anti-Islam protesters in the US have desecrated the Quran on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks  a move bound to stir up strong feelings in the Muslim world.
The streets near Ground Zero in New York, where a memorial service was held for the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks, became the scene of opposing demonstrations Saturday night. Over 1,000 people marched in favor of a proposed construction of an Islamic center near Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center prior to the 9/11 attacks, while a block away, other groups rallied against its construction.

In the opposition's rally, a man burned pages from the Muslim holy book in front of press photographers.  Two evangelical preachers in Tennessee also set copies of the Quran on fire and members of the group Operation Rescue tore pages from Islam's holy book.
In another incident, a man ripped out pages from the holy Quran and made vulgar gestures with them. The police did not try to stop any of the incidents.  This comes after a Florida preacher called off plans to burn copies of the Quran on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks.
The pastor's plans sparked criticism by the international community, particularly the Muslim world, and led to protests in several countries including Iran, Afghanistan and India.

Leader of Islamic Revolution: Iran will circumvent sanctions

TEHRAN - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has warned against international sanctions against Iran over its nuclear energy program, saying Iran will thwart sanctions. "The Iranian authorities and nation will undoubtedly circumvent sanctions (against the country) and render them ineffective just as they did over the past three decades and will move ahead with progress and development," said Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Iranian industrialists and manufacturerson Tuesday, Press TV reported. The Leader stressed the importance of creating a "truly resistant economy" to counter sanctions and economic pressure by arrogant powers. He reiterated that the enemiesseek to frustrate the Iranian people by exerting economic pressure on the country with the intent of turning the nation against the government by blaming it for poor economic performance. Ayatollah Khamenei said their goal is to cut ties between the government and nation. However, they have not known the Iranian nation and are mistaken in their calculations.
The Leader urged Iranian officials to collaborate closely to bring about growth and development in the country.Under intense political pressure from the US, the United Nations Security Council imposed a fourth round of sanctions on Iran on June 9 over the country's nuclear energy activities. The US and the European Union then brought additional unilateral sanctions on the Islamic Republic In addition to the Security Council's resolution, the United States and European Union imposed additional unilateral sanctions on the Islamic Republic in an effort to cripple Iran's economy and bend the country's resolve in continuing with its peaceful nuclear program.

Iran sends 500 doctors, nurses and relief workers to Pakistan
TEHRAN - Iran has sent 500 physicians, nurses and relief workers to neighboring Pakistan to provide medical services to flood-stricken people, Interior Minister Mostafa-Mohammad Najjar said.
These people will stay in Pakistan for 40 days, Najjar told reporters upon his arrival in Tehran following a three-day trip to Pakistan, MNA reported.
He said that Iran had sent more 40,000 tents to Pakistan in addition to the previous 10,000 ones because of an increase in demands.
The interior minister noted the Islamic Republic will also send 10 other cargoes of humanitarian aid to Pakistan over the next few days.
He went on to say that Iran\'s Red Crescent has set up a refugee camp in Pakistan and it is going to set up more camps in order to distribute foods, clothes and other necessary goods among the people.
On reports that people from some affected areas might enter Iran, he said Iran\'s borders are very far away from those areas, however, it has been decided that some camps to be set up near Iran\'s borders inside Pakistan.
So far, Iran has sent over 500 tons of humanitarian assistance to Pakistan, including tents, blankets, medicine, and food.
The floods have ruined 3.6 million hectares (8.9 million acres) of fertile farmland, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said farmers urgently need seeds to plant for next year’s crops.
The Pakistani government’s official death toll from the floods has reached 1,760, but disaster officials have said that number will likely rise ‘significantly’ when the missing are accounted for.

Quran burning would endanger U.S. troops, Petraeus tells church

KABUL (AFP) – The U.S. commander of the Afghan war has warned that his troops' lives will be endangered if a Florida evangelical church goes ahead with a planned burning of the Holy Quran on Saturday's 9/11 anniversary.
General David Petraeus said the planned torching of Islam's holy book would be a propaganda coup for the Taliban in Afghanistan and stoke anti-U.S. sentiment across the Muslim world.

Afghanistan, where Petraeus leads a 150,000-strong U.S.-led NATO force against the Taliban fighters, is a deeply devout Islamic country.

Actions seen by Afghans as against their religion or even allegations that Western troops have insulted the Quran have led to deadly violence in the past.

On Monday about 200 men gathered near a mosque in the capital Kabul to protest against the planned torching, shouting “death to America” and “long live Islam” for about an hour after their midday prayer, witnesses said.

The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida says it will burn copies of the Quran on this weekend's ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in protest.

Petraeus said of the plan: “It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall war effort in Afghanistan.

“It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community,” the general said in an emailed statement.

“I am very concerned by the potential repercussions of the possible Quran burning,” Petraeus added.

“Even the rumor that it might take place has sparked demonstrations such as the one that took place in Kabul yesterday,” he said, adding that an actual burning would put the safety of U.S. soldiers and civilian workers in jeopardy.

In January seven tribesmen were killed by gunfire from Afghan security forces trying to disperse angry crowds during a demonstration sparked by allegations that U.S. troops had torched the Muslim holy book.

An investigation by NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Afghan authorities found that no Quran was desecrated following a military operation by the alliance force in the southern province of Helmand.

The planned protest by the 50-member Florida congregation -- whose Facebook page bears the motto “Islam Is Of The Devil” -- has already triggered outrage in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country.

In late August about 100 Indonesian Islamists demonstrated outside the U.S. embassy in Jakarta and threatened jihad or holy war if the U.S. Christian group went through with the event.

Alleged desecration of the Quran by U.S. troops in both Afghanistan and Iraq has been an incendiary issue in the past, including when a U.S. soldier deployed to Iraq riddled a copy of the holy book with bullets in 2008.

A subsequent demonstration by about 2,000 people in central Afghanistan turned violent, with a Lithuanian soldier and two civilians killed in an exchange of gunfire between protesters and police.

The Florida church's pastor, Terry Jones, said Petraeus' concerns were “legitimate”.

 a. With Prophet (pbuh) nearly 8 years
 b. At the service of his father Imam Ali (as) 37 years approx
 c. the period of Imamate 10 years.
The Son of the Prophet
Imam Hasan Mujtaba upon whom be peace was the second Imam. He and his brother Imam Husayn were the two sons of Amir al-mu'minin Ali and Hazrat Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet. Many times the Prophet had said,
"Hasan and Husayn are my children". Because of these same words Ali would say to his other children, "You are my children and Hasan and Husayn are the children of the Prophet."
Imam Hasan was born in the year 3 A.H. in Medina and shared in the life of the Prophet for somewhat over seven years, growing up during that time under his loving care. After the death of the Prophet which was no more than three, or according to some, six months earlier than the death of Hazrat Fatimah, Hasan was placed directly under the care of his noble father.
Imam Hasan and Mu'awiyah
After the death of his father, through Divine Command and according to the will of his father, Imam Hasan became Imam; he also occupied the outward function of caliph for about six months, during which time he administered the affairs of the Muslims. During that time Mu'awiyah, who was a bitter enemy of Ali and his family and had fought for years with the ambition of capturing the caliphate, first on the pretext of avenging the death of the third caliph and finally with an open claim to the caliphate, marched his army into Iraq, the seat of Imam Hasan's caliphate. War ensued during which Mu'awiyah gradually subverted the generals and commanders of Imam Hasan's army with large sums of money and deceiving promises until the army rebelled against Imam Hasan. Finally, the Imam was forced to make peace and to yield the caliphate to Mu'awiyah, provided it would again return to Imam Hasan after Mu'awiyah's death and the Imam's household and partisans would be protected in every way. In this way Mu'awiyah captured the Islamic caliphate and entered Iraq. In a public he officially made null and void all the peace conditions and in every way possible placed the severest pressure upon the members of the Household of the Prophet and the Shi'ah. During all the ten years of his imamate, Imam Hasan lived in conditions of extreme hardship and under persecution, with no security even in his own house. In the year 50 A.H. he was poisoned and martyred by one of his own household who, as has been accounted by historians, had been motivated by Mu'awiyah.
Imam Hasan's Character
In human perfection Imam Hasan was reminiscent of his father and a perfect example of his noble grandfather. In fact, as long as the prophet was alive, he and his brother were always in the company of the Prophet who even sometimes would carry them on his shoulders. Both Sunni and Shi'ite sources have transmitted this saying of the Holy Prophet concerning Hasan and Husayn: "These two children of mine are Imams whether they stand up or sit down" (allusion to whether they occupy the external function of caliphate or not).
1. He describing the virtues of a pious companion said, "He was greater than the other people in my eyes. The loftiest virtue which had made him great in my eyes (opinion, view) is that the world was small (valueless) in his eyes.
He had attained freedom from the domination of ignorance. And never begged from anyone, except the trustworthy person, for a benefit.
He did not complain & did not get enraged & furious & was not put out of patience. (by weariness or annoyance). Most of the times he remained silent but when he opened up his lips to talk he would be at the zenith of all the speakers. He was weak & feeble but when it came to struggle & strife he was a fierce lion. He was more inclined to lend ear in the gathering of scholars than talk.
If someone overcame him in speech, no one could overcome him in silence. He never said what he did not practice (but) practiced what he did not say. When he was confronted with two matters that he did not know which one of these was nearer to Allah, then he would see which of those was nearer to his desire so he would oppose it.

2. A person asked him, "what is Fear?" He said, "to have courage upon friend & recoiling from the enemy".

3. Oh my son! do not become the companion of anyone (& don't befriend) but when you come to know about the places he comes & goes to (visits). And after you have minutely observed (his character) & got pleased with his association & social conduct then acquire his company; on the basis of forgiving the faults & (extending) consolation during the hardships.

4. The most sighting eye is the one which penetrates (views) into the blessings & beneficences. And the most auditory ear is the one which takes in (comprehends & retains) admonition, & gets benefited by it. The healthiest of hearts is the heart which is pure from doubts.

5. Do not make haste in punishing the sinner for his sin & let a way (passage) between the two (fault & punishment) excuse & apology.

6. All the beneficences of both the worlds come to the hand & are achieved by the mind (wits).

7. There is not poverty like the ignorance.

8. Teach others your knowledge & learn the knowledge of others so you will bring your knowledge to perfection & learn something which you do not know.

9. A person asked him, "What is generosity & magnanimity" He replied, To secure & protect the religion, & respecting one's soul, (self respect) and softness of conduct (gentleness in behavior) & permanency of favor & kindness & the discharging of rights.

10. Nice conduct & behavior with people is the height of intelligence & wits.

11. A man asked him, "what is munificence & bounty?" He replied, "to begin with granting before being asked for".

12. There is a distance of four fingers between the right & falsehood (eyes & ears). What you saw with your eyes that is right. And you have heard plenty number of false & untrue things through your ears.

13. Who ever loves the world (material) the fear of hereafter gets out (finishes) from his heart.

14. Ignorant is the one who is foolish about his wealth. (regarding spending it). who is slack & negligent about his honor, when he is abused & reviled, he does not respond.

15. Good deed is the one before which there is no evading & delaying & there is no boasting of favor, after it.

16. The annihilation of people lies in three things Arrogance, greed & jealousy. Arrogance is the cause of destruction & annihilation of religion & satan was cursed due to it. And greed is the enemy of soul & Adam was expelled by it from the paradise & jealousy is the guide to wickedness for the same reason Qabil (Kane) killed Habil (Abel).

17. It is for you to ponder because it is the (source of the) life of visionist's heart.

18. Leisure swiftly passes on & the return to it is very slow.

19. Associate with & treat the people in a way as you like to get associated & treated by them.

20. When the desirable & commendable services damage & harm the obligatory services, abandon them.

:: His Birth and blessings
The 2nd Imam after Imam Ali(a.s.) was his son Imam Hasan(a.s.), the son of the mistress of the women of the worlds, Bibi Fatima(s.a.), daughter of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh&hf). Imam Hasan(a.s.)'s kunya was Abu Muhammad. He was born in Medina, on the night of the 15th day of Ramadan, three years after the hijra (624 AD).
When Imam Hasan(a.s.) was born, the Prophet(pbuh&hf) took him and said the adhan (call to prayer) in his right ear, and said the iqama (words similar to the adhan) in his left ear. Then he sacrificed a ram for him (in the ceremony of aqiqa). Then he shaved his hair. He (i.e., the Prophet(pbuh&hf)) gave silver equal to his hair. So the weight of Imam Hasan(a.s.)'s hair was a dirham and some of silver. Then he ordered his hair to perfumed. So the aqiqa and giving alms as equal as the weight of hair have become Sunna (an act of the Prophet(pbuh&hf)).
Bibi Fatima(s.a.) brought her two sons, Imam Hasan(a.s.) and Imam Hussain(a.s.) to the Apostle of God(pbuh&hf) at the time when he was suffering from the sickness from which he died. "Apostle of God," she said, "these are your two (grand) sons. Give them something as an inheritance". "As for Hasan," he replied, "he has my form and my nobility. As for Hussain, he has my generosity and my bravery."

No one was more like the Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him and his family, than Imam Hasan(a.s.) in form, manner, and nobility.
Imam Hasan(a.s.) has been describe as : "He had a white, reddish face. He had black eyes, smooth cheeks, thick beard, and curly, plentiful hair. His neck was as white as a jug of silver. His body was good. He had large shoulders, and big fleshy bones. He was of medium height; neither long nor short. He was handsome; the best of all people in face".
:: His Worship
Imam Hasan(a.s.) performed the hajj on foot twenty-five times. When he mentioned death, he wept. When he mentioned the grave, he wept. When he mentioned the resurrection, he wept. When he mentioned crossing the sirat (a kind of bridge which only the righteous can cross on the road to Paradise), he wept. When he mentioned the standing before Allah(swt), he fainted. When he mentioned Paradise and Fire, he shock as the sick person did. So he asked Allah(swt) to make him enter Paradise and to protect him from Fire.
When Imam Hasan(a.s.) performed an ablution for prayers, he shock all over and his face became pale. He gave people from his property twice in the way of Allah(swt). He mentioned Allah(swt) in all conditions whether pleasant or otherwise.
They (the historians) said: "He (Imam Hasan(a.s.)) was the best of all people in worshipping Allah(swt) and refraining from the life in this world."
:: His Ethics
Imam Hasan(a.s.)'s ethics were excellent examples for people. So everyone respected him. Everyone loved him when he associated with him. When his friend or his enemy heard him talking or delivering a speech, he was sorry that he (Imam Hasan(a.s.)) would end his talking or his speech.
Muhammad b. Ishaq said: "After Allah's Apostle, may Allah bless him and his family, no one had a high social position as Imam Hasan(a.s.) had. (Mats) were spread out at the door of his house. When he came out and sat, the street was over crowded. So no one of Allah's creatures could pass to show respect for him. When he knew that, he stood up and entered his house. So the people could pass."
Although Imam Hasan(a.s.) had a high social rank, he was kind to people. One day he passed by poor persons. The poor persons were sitting on the ground. There were pieces of bread before them. They were picking up the pieces of bread and eating them. When they saw Imam Hasan(a.s.) they said to him: "Son of the Apostle of Allah, come to lunch!" So he dismounted his camel and said: "Indeed, Allah does not love the proud." He began eating with them. Then he invited them and gave them food and clothes.
The following are some examples of Imam Hasan(a.s.)'s generosity: A man came to him and asked him for a need. He (Imam Hasan(a.s.)) said to the man: "Write your need on a piece of paper and submit it to me." The man submitted his need to him. He (Imam Hasan(a.s.)) doubled the man's need. So some of those who were sitting with Imam Hasan(a.s.) said to him: "Son of the Apostle of Allah, the blessing of the piece of paper was great for the man." So Imam Hasan(a.s.) said: "Its blessing for us is greater, for Allah has made us appropriate for doing good. Do you not know that doing good should be optional, namely without request. As for him whom you give after the request, you give him after he has lost face. He may spend his night restless and sleepless. He rocks between despair and hope. He does not know whether he will face a sad answer or a glad success. He comes to you while he shakes all over and his heart is afraid (of you). Then if you met his need through losing face, that (losing face) would be greater than what he has obtained from your favor."
Imam Hasan(a.s.), gave a poet some money. So one of those who were sitting with him said to him: "Glory be to Allah! Do you give the poet who disobeys the Merciful (Allah) and tells lies?" Imam Hasan(a.s.), peace be on him, said: "Servant of Allah, the best of your money is what you spend to protect your dignity. It is an act of kindness to avoid the evil."
A Bedouin came to Imam Hasan(a.s.) and asked him for a need. So Imam Hasan(a.s.) said: "Give him all the money in the safe." There were twenty thousand dirhams in the safe. All the money was given to the Bedouin, so he said: "My master, do you not let me tell you about my need and praise you?" Imam Hasan(a.s.) began saying: Our gifts are many, The hopeful enjoy them, Our selves give generously before the request, For fear of losing face.
One day Imam Hasan(a.s.) saw a black boy. The black boy was eating a piece of bread and giving a piece of bread to his dog. So Imam Hasan(a.s.) said to him: "What has made you do this?" "I feel shame of my dog when I eat and do not feed him," answered the black boy. Then Imam Hasan(a.s.) said to him: "Do not leave your place till I come to you." At that moment Imam Hasan(a.s.) went to the black boy's master. He bought the black boy and the wall (the garden) where he lived. He freed the black boy and made him possess the wall.
:: His Outstanding Merits
Imam Hasan(a.s.) is the Lord of the youth of Heaven. He was one of the two persons in whom the progeny of the Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him and his family, was limited. He was one of the four persons through whom the Prophet(pbuh&hf) made the contest of prayer with the Christians of Najran. He was one of the five persons whom the Prophet(pbuh&hf) covered with his cloak. He was one of the twelve Imams whose obedience Allah(swt) made incumbent on people. He was among those who were purified from sins as the Qur'an says. He was among those whose love Allah(swt) made reward for the message. He was among those whom the Apostle of Allah(pbuh&hf) made one of the two valuable things (thaqalayn). Thus whoever cleaves to them does not go astray. He was the plant of the sweet basil of the Apostle of Allah(pbuh&hf). The Prophet(pbuh&hf) loved him and asked Allah(swt) to love those who love him.
Imam Hasan(a.s.)'s Succession to the Caliphate and his Abdication
Imam Hasan(a.s.) was the testamentary trustee (wasi) of Imam Ali(a.s.) over his family, his children and his followers. He bequeathed him to look after his position and (the position of) his taxes (sadaqat) and he wrote him a covenant (of succession) which is well-known. His testamentary trusteeship is obvious in terms of the outlines of religion, the essential characteristic of wisdom and good-breeding. A great number of scholars have reported this trusteeship and many of the men of understanding have realised the truth of this through his (attitude to) the world.
When Imam Ali(a.s.) died, Imam Hasan(a.s.) addressed the people. He reminded them of his right (to authority). The followers of his father pledged allegiance to him in terms of fighting those he fought and making peace with those with whom he made peace. He assumed the succession in the best manner though the time of his succession was short. Also he made a Peace Treaty with Mu'awiya on the 15th of Jamadi al-Awwal in the year 41 A.H., according to the most correct reports. So he was able to protect the religion and to spare the blood of the believers. In the Peace Treaty, he followed the teachings, which he reported on the authority of his father on the authority of his grandfather, may Allah bless him and his family. Apparently, his succession was seven months and twenty days.
After the Peace Treaty had been concluded, Imam Hasan(a.s.) came back to Medina to stay there. So his house became as a second haram (a sacred sanctuary) for people to visit. Through these two sacred places (Imam Hasan(a.s.)'s house and Medina), Imam Hasan(a.s.), became the rise of guidance. He was the stronghold of knowledge and shelter of Muslims. Meanwhile there were many knowledgeable people all around him. Anyhow such knowledgeable people were the students of Imam Hussain(a.s.). So they learned knowledge from him and reported it on his authority. Allah(swt) granted Imam Hasan(a.s.) plentiful knowledge and a high social position in the hearts of Muslims. Thus he (Imam Hasan(a.s.)) was able to guide the community, to lead Muslims spiritually, to correct the Islamic beliefs, and to unify the people of monotheism.
:: His Death
Imam Hasan(a.s.) was given poison several times. When Imam Hasan(a.s.) felt the danger in the last attempt, he said to his brother Imam Hussain(a.s.): "My brother, I am leaving you and meeting my Lord. I have been given poison to drink, and have spewed my liver into the basin. I am aware of the person who poisoned me and from where I have been made a subject to this deceitful action. I will oppose him before Allah, the Great and Almighty." Then he said: "Bury me with my grand father, the Apostle of Allah(pbuh&hf). For I am worthier of him and his family' (than others). If they prevent you from doing so, then I make you swear by the relation which Allah(swt) has made close to you and by the blood relation to the Apostle of Allah(pbuh&hf) not to shed even your blood into the cupping-glass in (carrying out) my command, till we meet the Apostle of Allah(pbuh&hf) to oppose the people before him and to tell him about what we have suffered from them."
Then Imam Hasan(a.s.) made his testamentary bequests to his family and his children. He gave Imam Hussain(a.s.) his heirlooms and the things which the Commander of the faithful (Imam Ali(a.s.)) had bequeathed to him when he had made him his successor, had declared him worthy to occupy his position, and had indicated to his Shi'a (his followers) that he (Imam Hasan(a.s.)) was his successor. Then Imam Hasan(a.s.) died on the 28th of Safar in the year 50 A.H.
Abu al-Faraj al-Isfahani said: "Mu'awiya wanted the people to pledge allegiance to his son Yazid. However, the existence of Imam Hasan(a.s.) b. 'Ali and of Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas troubled him very much. So he gave them poison to drink, and they died of it."
The abominable disasters of this kind shook the conscience of the Muslim countries. So there were various revolutions throughout history. In this connection Allah(swt), the Exalted, says: "And they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back."

IRANIAN MAJLIS TO GET BANNED ISRAELI GOODS LIST

Iranian Majlis to get banned Israeli goods list

Iranian Majlis to get banned Israeli
goods list thumbnailThe ministry will present its first report on the list of identified Israeli companies and products to Parliament in the coming days, Vice-President for Parliamentary Affairs, Mohammad-Reza Mir-Tajeddini, told IRIB on Thursday.
Mir-Tajeddini further pointed out that the report was expected by the Majlis within the next three days.
In June, Iranian lawmakers approved a bill calling on the Foreign Ministry to establish a major effort to enforce a total embargo on Israeli goods. They agreed to task a committee with identifying Israeli companies and institutions.
The committee is comprised of representatives from the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and the five ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Commerce, Intelligence and Oil.
The lawmakers stipulated that the Foreign Ministry present the list to the Majlis within two months of the ratification of the bill.
The ministry should submit a report on the committee’s activities to the Majlis’ National Security and Foreign Policy Commission annually or whenever required.
The ministry is also required to put forward a proposal for the boycott of Israeli commodities at international meetings, including the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

THE FIRST BATTLE OF ISLAM AT BADR.

The first battle of Islam at Badr:
BadrThe emigration of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) to Medina had turned the enemies from Mecca more hostile, and they constantly kept on thinking how they could overthrow him, and put an end to Islam. The Meccans and their allies started to bring their raids to the very outskirts of Medina, destroying the fruit trees of the Muslims and carrying away their flocks.
The winter of 624 AD saw the invasion of Medina by a strong force of Meccans led by Abu Jahl consisting of all army of 1000 strong with 700 camels and 100 horses.
Receiving information about this force, the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) decided to meet the enemy outside Medina at a place called as Badr (200 Miles from Mecca and 80 Miles from Medina). He set out with three hundred and thirteen (313) of his followers. This small force was marshaled out of Medina with the youthful Ali holding the Banner of the Prophet (S.A.W).
The battle of Badr was the most important among the Islamic battles of Destiny. For the first time the followers of the new faith were put into a serious test. Had victory been the lot of the pagan army while the Islamic Forces were still at the beginning of their developments, the faith of Islam could have come to an end.
No one was aware of the importance of the outcome of the Battle as the Prophet (S.A.W.) himself. We might read the depth of his anxiety in his prayer before the beginning of the Battle when he stood up supplicating his Lord:
"God this is Quraish. It has come with all its arrogance and boastfulness, trying to discredit Thy Apostle. God, I ask Thee to humiliate them tomorrow. God, if this Muslim band will perish today, Thou shall not be worshipped."
Warfare in those days followed a different pattern. Before the general battle began, a number of duels were fought between the leading warriors on each side. When the Muslims reached the fertile vale of Badr, a favorite watering place and camping ground on the caravan route, three stations northwards from Mecca, the Prophet (S.A.W) ordered a halt, taking up a suitable position near a stream of fresh water, to await the arrival of the infidel army. It was on the next day, Friday, 17th Ramazan 2 AH or January 13th 624 AD that the enemy, blowing their trumpets, approached the Muslims, and both forces were arrayed in battle.
Three of the infidel warriors, Utbah, the father-in-law of Abu Sufyan, his brother Shaybah, and Al-Walid son of Utbah came out of the ranks and arrogantly challenged the Muslims. Three Ansars of Medina stepped forward to meet this challenge. This greatly enraged the Meccans who refused to combat with the Ansars saying, "We have not come all this way to cross arms with the Medinites, against whom we bear no grudge. We challenge the people of Mecca who have the courage to defy us." Upon this Ali and Ubaydah, cousins of the Prophet, and Hamzah his uncle, responded to the challenge. In the words of Col. Bodley, "At the taunt of the Quriashite, Ali dashed out of the Muslim ranks glittering in breast-plate and helmet. He was soon followed by Ubaydah bin al-Harith, a paternal cousin of Muhammad and Hamzah who wore an ostrich feather in his Cuirass. The three companions were thus closely related to Muhammad and fulfilled the Quraish for Hashimite (the clan of the Prophet) blood!"
The three duels were as rapid as they were murderous. Hamzah killed Shaybah, While Ali killed Al-Walid. Ubaydah was mortally wounded, but before he fell, Ali and Hamzah were able to come to his rescue. Hamzah hurled himself at Utbah, and with a sweep of his sword cut off his head. In a few minutes three of Mecca's most important warriors had been sent to find out the truth about the hell which Muhammad (S.A.W) had promised them!" Ubaydah was the first martyr at this battle. He died after he lost his leg.
With a cry of rage three more Meccans darted from under Abu Jahl's banner and assailed the Muslim champions (Ali and Hamzah). They too went down before the sword of Islam. A further three were dealt with the same fate. There was a moment of hesitancy among the Quraishites. Muhammad (S.A.W) did not miss his advantage. With a sharp order he sent his soldiers charging into a general attack.
When the general offensive began, hundreds of companions participated in the battle and offered sacrifices and pleased their Lord. But the members of the house of the Messenger (S.A.W.) distinguished themselves. Ali's endeavor was unique at this battle. When Hanthala Ibn Abu Sufyan faced him, Ali liquefied his eyes with one blow from his sword. He annihilated Al Auss Ibn Saeed, and met Tuaima Ibn Oday and transfixed him with his spear, saying "You shall not dispute with us in God after today."
The Messsnger (S.A.W.) took a handful of gravel when the battle was extremely heated. He threw it at the faces of the pagans saying "May your faces be disfigured. God, terrify their hearts and invalidated their feet." The pagans ran away, turning their faces to no one.
The line of the Quraish wavered and a number of their bravest and noblest fell; they took to flight ignominiously, and in their haste to escape they threw away their armor and abandoned their transport animals with all their camp and equipage. Seventy of the bravest Quraish were slain and forty-five taken prisoners, and their commander, Abu Jahl and Hanzala Ibn Abu Sofyan, were amongst the slain.
Though it was the first engagement of the youthful Ali, he showed surprising results and was praised by one and all. He killed no less than sixteen-though some historians give him credit for thirty-six of the bravest and the most prominent of the Quraish army.
This battle laid the foundation of the Islamic State and made out of the Muslims a force to be reckoned with by the dwellers of the Arabic Peninsula.

Crackdown returns, 42 held in Bemina

In a throwback to ’90s, police and paramilitary CRPF on Saturday cracked down on a Bemina
The government forces resorted to aerial firing and fired several teargas canisters to disperse people including women who took to roads and blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway, demanding release of the arrestees.
Locals said around 2 pm large contingent of police and CRPF arrived in the Nundreshi Colony-Sector B. “Without making any announcement they barged into the houses, made searches and ordered men and children to assemble in the compound of the local Masjid,” said one Touseef Ahmad who along with some elders was preparing the list of those arrested by police.
“After people assembled on the spot,” said Touseef, “They whisked away at least 42 persons. People were either busy in their domestic work or returning from prayers when the forces arrived.”
The arrestees included Bashir Ahmad Lone, 50, and his father Habibulla, an octogenarian. “Actually they were looking for my 7-year old brother Amir. But when they couldn’t find him, police rounded up my ailing father and grandfather,” said Zahid, brother of Amir.
Family of Hafeeza putting up in a rented accommodation in the area had received some guests from Sopur a few days back. But three of the guests were also rounded up by police, she said. “My husband was also picked up. He was beaten ruthlessly.”
Meraj-ud-din Misgar, whose brother Mukthar Ahmad is one of the victims, said there were no protests in the area. “The arrests by police are another tactic to harass people. My brother is innocent. He was picked up from home,” the angry looking Meraj said. Police also arrested the local Imam, Mashooq Ahmad, said Meraj. “He was picked up from Masjid after a search by police and CRPF at his room,” Meraj said. Locals said as police was taking away the arrested persons, some of them including women tried to persuade the Station House Officer and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer to leave them.
“However, policemen baton-charged people, fired tear smoke canisters and resorted to aerial firing to disperse them. They misbehaved with women,” eyewitnesses said.
Eyewitnesses also saw policemen even snatching the scarves of the women.
As police and CRPF left the spot, people including women and children took to roads. They staged a massive protest demonstration, blocked the highway, demanding release of the arrestees.
“We will not move from the road till our people are released,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, adding they had decided to offer the remaining prayers of the day on the road.
“How can we leave? They whisked away even our guests. We will not allow traffic movement,” said Hafeeza, asking people to assemble on the road.
“Don’t worry sister. We are with you. We will not give up,” Feroz consoled her.
The incident was a flashback of ’90s when BSF and police would lay cordon around an area and whisk away people. The protests were going on when the last reports came in.
Talking to Greater Kashmir the Superintendent of Police City (South), Muhammad Irshad, said some of the “miscreants” from the locality used to block the highway during late hours, hampering the traffic movement and then damage the window panes of the vehicles.
“We picked up some suspects and after identification all of them were released except nine who were found to be involved in trouble-making,” he said. The residents have been accusing an official of the Police Post Bemina of unleashing a ‘reign of terror’ in the area, seeking his immediate transfer.
The aggrieved residents told Greater Kashmir that the “former gunman turned police official” had turned the peoples life miserable. They residents accused the officer of misbehaving with woman.
PARVAIZ RESHI adds from Ganderbal: As the news about the misbehavior of policemen with women in Bemina spread in Ganderbal, night protests broke out in Saloora, Wanipora and the adjoining villages.
Witnesses said after the evening prayers people assembled outside the Masjids of the area and chanted pro-freedom and anti-police slogans.
colony here on the city outskirts and rounded up 42 people including a 7-year old boy, an octogenarian and the local Imam, besides misbehaving with women.
